Refugee Book

This was a self- directed brief, I wanted to illustrate a book to help educate young children on refugees and make them more understanding of new people at their school. My brother wrote the story, 'Freya's New Friend' and together we collaborated on this project to produce a children's book. I also created the typeface for this project.

Refugees and immigrants is a topic which children are unfamiliar and misinformed on. In order to help children to become more aware of immigrants and welcoming of refugees, I collaborated with my brother to come up with this childrens book aimed at ages (3-8).

 

My role was to illustrate, create handwritten  typefaces and compose the book itself as well as print it. This was my first illustration project and it challenged me to come up with my own style to create cohesive illustrations throughout the book.
