The Fancy Collection

This collection of prints originated from the Perello olives. For some reason whether it be marketing or just a trend this tin had the youth of London, North, South, East and West completely hooked. Not only is the tin beautifully designed and therefore brilliant to paint but it's so recognisable to a symbol of 'coolness' amongst the youth. So much so  I would find myself prioritising nice fancy foods from the Bailey and Sage over essentials and truth be told it brought me utter joy when i restocked Mutti, Perello and Ortiz as a treat! With this collection I wanted to capture the feeling of living in a city when your'e just starting out in your career and you cant afford nice dinners and trips so the alternative is splashing out on the fancy pasta or tinned sardines once in a while. I think this is relatable and quite charming. It is all about romanticising the small things.

'The fancy olives from the tin'

Perello olives took east London by storm. They had hipsters and the real housewives of Clapton hooked. I love how simple tinned goods like olives and sardines, when marketed as trendy had us all obsessed.

'The fancy tinned tomatoes'

Mutti was the obvious choice to follow the Perello print as its well known they are the elite tinne tomatoes and also look stunning on the shelf.

Spritzing the day away

An Aperol Spritz has become an essential in the london working lifestyle of happy hours and work drinks.

'Mayo from the jar just tastes better'

Theres defiantly some truth in food from the original packaging feeling more special like a glass bottle of coca cola on holiday. For me is Hellmans Mayo in a jar.

'Feeling fancy pasta'

When you cant be bothered to cook and you just crave a simple pasta and sauce I like to justify my decision by getting this pasta so it feels more special. Silly but true.

'Campari come back'

Campari is fast becoming the cooler older brother of the Aperol spritz. It's more bitter and rare to see which makes it irresistible for the hype beasts of London.
